ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A person has died after a fire in Anderson County that happened early Sunday morning.

The Anderson County Fire Department responded to a fire on Chedder Road in Belton around 1:30 a.m.

Deputy Coroner Don McCown said firefighters rescued, treated and released one person from that home.

A second person, identified as Danny Leon Rackley, was found in the hallway of the house. 69-year-old Rackley was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Coroner.

McCown says he died from smoke inhalation and alcohol was a factor.

Deputy Coroner McCown says investigators do not suspect foul play. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday to confirm the cause of death.
