6th suspect arrested in Greenwood Mall shooting

GREENWOOD, SC (WSPA) – A sixth suspect has been arrested in the Greenwood Mall shooting that happened in July, according to Greenwood Police.

Isaiah K. Whatley, 17, of Pampas Dr. in Greenwood was arrested Wednesday.

Police say he is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

Police say he was identified using surveillance video and witnesses.

He has been denied bond.

Five other suspects have already been charged.

They are:

Antonio Lafayette Williams

Shyheim Alston

Shyheim Freeman

Shyheim Reed

Narkevious Reid

The arrest warrants say Williams, Reid and the other suspects got into an argument with a victim in Foot Locker at the mall.

The suspects reportedly left the store and then waited for the victim to exit.

The victim told an employee at the store that the men were after him.

The victim then left the store and went out towards the Belk side of the mall, according to the warrant.

The suspect then tried to chase the victim down. One of the suspects then pulled out a gun and fired several rounds at the victim, according to the warrant.

The victim and the suspects then ran from the scene.
