8 people hurt after work van crash in Cherokee Co.

GAFFNEY, S.C. (WSPA) – There was a wreck involving a work van in Cherokee County, according to Gaffney Fire Chief Jamie Caggiano.

He says 8 adults were injured. Four people were taken to Mary Black Gaffney Hospital, while four were taken to Spartanburg Medical Center.

The crash happened along I-85 around 7 a.m. Tuesday, the chief says.

The van was headed southbound on I-85 when it drove off the interstate and rolled over at Frontage Road.

The Gaffney Ledger reports that two workers were thrown from the van with non life-threatening injuries. One person was trapped.
