Pedestrian killed by car in Boiling Springs identified

BOILING SPRINGS, S.C. (WSPA) – One person passed away at an area hospital after being hit by a car Thursday afternoon in Boiling Springs. 

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased pedestrian as 60-year-old Gloria Alvarado of Boiling Springs.

South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the crash at about 12:01 p.m. on Highway 9. 

Troopers said someone was walking north on private property when the driver of a 2004 Ford SUV crashed into them. 

Alvarado was taken to Spartanburg Regional, where she passed away, according to the coroner. 

Troopers said no charges have been filed. 

South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office will continue to investigate the crash.
