Air conditioning being repaired at Spartanburg Humane Society

SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – The Spartanburg Humane Society says they have recieced $25,000 in donation to repair their two huge air condition units.

They think lightning had hit the units and damaged them.

They say several air conditioning companies stepped up to offer help.

American Veteran Air Conditioning has been working with the Humane Society and was able to locate the equipment they needed to make the repairs.

They say work started Friday and they will be replacing compressors Tuesday.

Any donations that are not used will be ear marked for further repairs that may come up, according to the Humane Society.

They say no animals have died or developed any illnesses because of the heat.

They had to make adjustments to keep the animals cool, such as bringing in fans and limiting outside time.

The Humane Society is doing fundraisers on social media and donors have been helping them out.
