1 eastbound lane reopened after tractor trailer crash on I-26 in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – South Carolina Highway Patrol officials said a tractor trailer driver was charged after the vehicle crashed, blocking all lanes of Interstate 26 Monday morning.

According to SCHP Trooper Joe Hovis, the crash happened just before 6:50 a.m. Monday.

Hovis said the tractor trailer was traveling eastbound on the interstate when it ran off the right side of the interstate and hit guardrail.

The guardrail reportedly got tangled up beneath the trailer and was stretched across the eastbound side of the interstate, blocking the road.

Hovis said one lane of the interstate was reopened to traffic and the other lane was expected to reopen soon.

No injuries were reported.

The driver of the tractor trailer, identified as Travis Moreland, of Elizabethton, Tenn., was charged with driving too fast for conditions.
