ANDERSON CO., SC (WSPA) – Highway Patrol cited an Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Deputy after a crash involving a county vehicle on May 30.

Troopers say the crash happened on Old Greenville Highway near Burdette Drive when the car ran off the road and overturned while trying to avoid stopped traffic.

A pedestrian was hit during the crash and suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the car, Adrienne Therese McMahan, is the Anderson Co. Deputy and was driving a patrol car at the time.

The sheriff’s office says McMahan was assigned to the Road Patrol Division and was responding to a non-emergency call.

McMahan was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions.

She has received disciplanary action including suspension, reassignment and additional vehicle operations training, according to the sheriff’s office.
