Arrest made in bank robbery in Hendersonville

HENDERSONVILLE, NC (WSPA) – Police have arrested a man they say robbed the Entegra Bank in Hendersonville, Friday.

According to the Hendersonville Police Department, the robbery happened at the bank on Spartanburg Highway. They say the suspect was wearing a mask and robbed the bank at the teller station.

Hendersonville Police, along with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office and Laurel Park Police, searched the area for the suspect. A short time later they found a man matching the suspect’s description in a restaurant on Spartanburg Highway.

That man, later identified as 42-year-old Daniel Wayne Owens, was later interviewed by detectives who determined that Owens was responsible for the robbery.

Owens has been charged with common law robbery and is being held in the Henderson County Detention Center on $30,000 bond.
