Asheville police find missing teen girl


UPDATE: Police announced that Lyla Conklin was safely located. The announcement was made on Thursday, May 10.

ASHEVILLE, NC (WSPA) – Asheville Police Department officers are searching for a missing 13-year-old girl.

According to a police department news release, officers are looking for Lyla Maria Conklin, who was last seen on April 24 at her home in East Asheville wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

Conklin is 5-foot-7 inches tall, weighs around 180 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone with information on Conklin’s whereabouts is asked to call APD at 828-252-1110 or Crime Stoppers at 828-255-5050.
