SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – A 27-year-old man is now charged with Attempted Murder after a road rage shooting in Spartanburg in September.

Adam Lunsford is charged with Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault in connection with the shooting.

The shooting happened around 7:30pm on September 22 on Lucerne Drive.

Officers say the drivers were following each other due to a road rage incident where both drivers were arguing and making gestures towards each other.

They say the 33-year-old victim stepped out of his car and was shot several times while standing outside of the car.

Lunsford was detained at the scene by an off-duty deputy with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
