GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – The wife of Bob Jones University chancellor Dr. Bob Jones III, Beneth Peters Jones has died at the age of 81.
According to Bob Jones University, Beneth Jones died Saturday morning with her family by her side.
Jones was a film and stage actress, appearing in several Christian films and stage shows. She also hosted a syndicated radio program and spoke at conferences around the world.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, former university president Dr. Bob Jones III, her daughter Roxane, sons Bob Jones IV and Stephen, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A viewing for Jones will be held Tuesday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm in War Memorial Chapel on the campus of Bob Jones University.
The funeral for Beneth Jones will be Wednesday at 2:00pm at Founder’s Memorial Amphitorium. She will be buried immediately after at a gravesite in front of Rodeheaver Auditorium.
