(WSPA) — A Florida company has recalled birth control pills over possible packaging errors.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Apotex Corp. is voluntarily recalling four lots of Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets that were distributed nationwide.
According to the FDA, recalled lots may contain defective blisters with incorrectly arranged tablets or an empty blister pocket.
No pregnancies or adverse events have been reported to the company.
Apotex notified affected wholesalers and distributors by mail and is arranging to have the recalled product returned, according to the FDA.
Patients who have experienced problems related to the recall are urged to consult their healthcare providers.
