Blacksburg house fire under investigation

CHEROKEE Co., S.C. (WSPA) — A deputy patrolling the Blacksburg area spotted flames coming from a house early Tuesday morning. 

The fire at 1029 Possum Trot Road was reported around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Blacksburg Fire Chief Donovan Ford said the house was in flames when crews arrived on scene. 

Chief Ford said CKC, Grover Rural VFD and Smyrna Volunteer Fire Departments also responded. 

There were no reported injuries. 

Firefighters say the house is abandoned. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. 

7News is told the owner lives in Columbia.
