Blue Ridge Middle School student arrested after threat overheard

GREENVILLE Co., SC (WSPA) – An eighth grade student and Blue Ridge Middle School has been arrested and charged with Student Threats, according to Beth Brotherton with Greenville Co. Schools.

The student was overheard making comments by classmates and they reported it to an adult on September 28, according to the report.

A report from Greenville Co. Sheriff’s office says the 13-year-old had expressed the intent hurt those at the school.

An investigation began immediately by school administrators and the school resource officer.

The student will also be disciplined according to the district’s behavior code, according to Brotherton.

Brotherton said they tell all students if they “See Something, Say Something.”

The Greenville Co. Sheriff’s Office says they take all threats seriously and have zero tolerance regarding threats directed at students and schools.
