Boy charged in shooting death of teen, Greenwood police say

GREENWOOD, S.C. (WSPA) — Police say a 15-year-old boy has been charged in connection to a deadly shooting.

The suspect, who’s not named because he’s a juvenile, is charged with involuntary manslaughter and a weapons crime for the shooting death of Markevious K. Jackson, according to Greenwood police.

The coroner said Jackson died from injuries he received in a shooting on Nov. 18.

Officers found Jackson laying in the road on Meadow Street. The coroner says Jackson later died from a single gunshot wound at Self Regional Healthcare.

The suspect was detained Dec. 1 and is being held at the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice, police say.
