Bridge repairs begin on I-85 Business in Spartanburg Co.


Crews are repairing the bridge deck on southbound I-85 Business over the Norfolk Southern railroad in Spartanburg County, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

The repair began January 25th at 8 a.m. and will continue through January 31,  if there are no delays due to weather or other circumstances.

Southbound I-85 Business will be closed beginning at milepost 4.12 (SC-56 Asheville Highway) and will re-open at milepost 3.265 (S.-42-65 New Cut Road). Traffic will be detoured to US-176 to I-85 South, to I-26 East, and back to I-85 Business South. SC-56 Asheville Highway will remain open, only the southbound on ramp to I-85 Business will be closed.
