Broad River Electric wants to engage their community in more ways than providing power.

On Saturday, August 25, they are holding a shred day.

You can stop by their Boiling Springs location at 5535 Highway 9.

The times you can drop off will be from 9 am to 1 pm.

You can drop off paper only, but you can drop off as much paper as you want.

It is free and the paper will be shred by Shred-It.

The company brings a mobile unit that uses crosscut technology to turn sensitive paperwork into confetti sized pieces.

Protecting your personal information is important to stop hackers and identity thieves.

Broad River says tossing important files in the trash is a risk and it is better to shred it.
