Brothers accused of child sex crime in Spartanburg Co.


SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – Two brothers are accused of child sex crimes with a girl who was less than 11 years old, according to Spartanburg Co. Sheriff’s Office.

They are both charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a minor, victim under 11 years of age – first degree.

The men are:

  • Michael Alan Long, 67, of South Converse St. in Spartanburg.
  • William Howard Long, 68, of Anderson Rd. in Greenville.

The warrant says it happened between September 1, 2015 and Nov. 20, 2017.

Deputies say the arrests were made after an interview with the victim.

Michael Long was under house arrest on two previous charges of Criminal Sexual Conduct 3rd Degree in February 2017.

He is a registered sex offender for a conviction from 3 decades ago for lewd acts on a minor, according to the sheriff’s office.

Both men are currently in the Spartanburg Co. Detention Center.
