UNION CO., SC (WSPA) – Deputies have charged a man with murder after a shooting that left one person dead in Union County.

Sheriff David Taylor said the shooting happened on Drugstore Street and Haywood St. in Buffalo around 6:45 p.m. Sunday.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found 63-year-old David Steven Silvey dead from apparent gunshot wounds in the road.

Deputies say 27-year-old Joshua MacKensie Miles of Fountain Inn was arrested at the scene and has been charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a Violent Crime.

Union Co. Sheriff David Taylor said the shooting was over a car that was blocking a back alley.

The vehicle blocking the alley didn’t belong to the accused shooter, according to Taylor.

The men got into an argument and that led to the shooting.

Taylor said the two men had never met or had any knowledge of each other before the shooting.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
