ASHEVILLE, NC (WSPA) – Some businesses were on lockdown in Biltmore Village after a foot chase with a robbery suspect, according to Asheville Police.

Police say Gary Adrian Church, 43, of Ronda, NC had open warrants for several robberies in Asheville as well as Burke and Iredell counties.

He ran behind the woods behind the DoubleTree Hotel and TGI Friday’s.

MAHEC, DoubleTree Hotel, TGI Friday’s and the Hampton Inn, were all on lock down.

Police say the Crisis Negotiation Team stayed in constant contact with Church and he was arrested after 3 hours without further incident.

Church is charged with Flee/Elude Arrest with a Motor Vehicle, Speeding and Common Law Robbery in a robbery on August 7 at the Citgo/Eblen Short Stop (1438 Tunnel Road).
