UNION CO., SC (WSPA) – A Union man faces life in prison after he was indicted on federal drug and weapons charges, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

33-year-old Marcus Terrell Spencer was indicted on two counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine and Possession of a Firearm in the Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office says Spencer is a career criminal and faces a life sentence in Federal Prison.

Spencer was taken into custody on September 18 and was taken to federal court in Spartanburg where he was denied bond on September 21.

“These are the type of criminals we are trying to get out of Union County so we can keep our county a better place to live.” said Sheriff David Taylor.

The Union County Sheriff’s Narcotics investigators along with the ATF investigated the case.
