WELLFORD, S.C. (WSPA) — Tim Alexander has resigned as chief of the Wellford Police Department.
According to a resignation letter provided by City Administrator Chris Guy, Alexander resigned on Monday.

Alexander had served with the Wellford Police Department since August 2007, according to records from the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy.
Records show he also served as an officer at Spartanburg Methodist College, the S.C. Department of Corrections and Woodruff Police Department.
Lt. David Green will serve as acting chief.
