Child dead after pickup truck crash in Greenville Co., troopers say

GREENVILLE CO., SC (WSPA) – A child has died after they were thrown from a pickup truck in a crash in southern Greenville County, Saturday afternoon.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 2:15pm on Highway 418 near Fork Shoals Road.

Highway Patrol says a pickup truck headed west on Highway 418 ran off the right side of the road and flipped multiple times.

Troopers say an 8-year-old child was thrown from the truck and died at the scene.

Three other people in the truck were hurt in the crash.

The Greenville County Coroner has identified the victim as 8-year-old Lashonna Bowens of Fountain Inn.
