Citadel alum helped in the rescue of 12 Thailand boys

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A South Carolina native and Citadel graduate took part in the rescue mission of the 12 Thailand boys trapped in the flooded cave.

Maj. Charles Hodges is a 2000 Citadel graduate, native of Blair, South Carolina, according to spokesperson Kimberly Keelor of The Citadel. 

Hodges was in the Alpha Company, Honors program, and a Spanish major, according to Keelor.

The  boys were trapped in a cave in Thailand for nearly two weeks. The boys were rescued Tuesday after a several day effort.
