Clemson faces off against USC in annual Blood Bowl

CLEMSON, SC (WSPA) – The competition is heating up between Clemson and USC ahead of the big football game next week.

The schools are facing off this week on which student body can donate the most blood. It’s the 34th year with South Carolina ahead by three winds over Clemson.

But the Tigers aren’t letting that keep them down as they push their students to give back to the community with donations when there is a nationwide shortage of blood.

“We always have that need for helping out not just our hospitals, but the natural disasters happening around the world so we are always collecting to help those disasters,” said Shannez Herazo with The Blood Connection.
This is the first year that Clemson has gotten the community involved by opening specific locations for community members and faculty to donate to the cause even though the pints won’t go to the final county.

There are donation locations at Sikes, Douthit, Vickery, Riggs, Brackett, Core, Student Union, Hendrix or Fernow at Clemson University.
