Clemson fans return from Dallas, plan for trip to California

ANDERSON, SC (WSPA) –  It was a big weekend for Clemson as they secured their spot in the National Championship game.

As the Tigers head back to the Upstate, so did a number of fans who made the trip to Dallas. While some flew, others drove, but overall it was a huge turnout at the Cotton Bowl.

Now many are looking to California and how they will make the trip out to see the Tigers again.

For one Anderson couple, they were so confident in Clemson’s ability this year that they booked their flights and hotel to the championship in September.

“It’s like I said almost a Christmas present, a bonus at the end of the year to see your team go to the national title and hopefully win it it’s just unbelievable and it’s just crazy right now,” Mike Mathews said.

This is the third time in four years that the Tigers will play in the National Championship and Upstate fans are confident this will be a great end to the year.

“It’s something else you don’t get to do it with anyone else, it’s the memories you are going to tell your grandkids and kids when you are twenty forty years down the road,” said Zachary McIntosh who attended the Cotton Bowl with his father.
