Clemson grads to appear on ‘Shark Tank’

CLEMSON, S.C. (WSPA) — A group of former Clemson University students will appear on an upcoming episode of “Shark Tank.” 

Their invention – the Kanga Kase Mate –  started as a class project. It will be seen by millions of viewers on Sunday.

Kanga CEO Logan LaMance is a Pickens native and 2018 Clemson University College of Business management graduate, according to a news release from the university.

Logan and fellow Clemson graduates Teddy Giard and Austin Maxwell pitched the idea for the lightweight, insulated cooler to the show’s panel in September. 

LaMance and others say it can keep a case of beer cold for up to seven hours without ice. 

He and his partners have landed a sponsorship with Bud Light, along with partnerships with Home Depot and Wicked Weed Brewing. 

Clemson University says the company has sold about 7,000 Kase Mates as of late March.

The Shark Tank episode featuring the Clemson grads and their investntion airs 10 p.m. Sunday, April 7 on ABC.
