Clemson graduate living on ESPN Billboard for 12 days

News

A Clemson graduate is representing the Clemson Tigers in California from 45 feet in the sky.

For twelve days, Charleston-native Nancy Godwin Volland is living on a billboard platform as part of ESPN’s “Who’s In?” televised billboard competition.

ESPN chose four fans, including Volland, to represent the semifinalist teams of the College Football National Championship game.

As Notre Dame and Oklahoma lost games in the semifinals, their fans were asked to leave and now Clemson’s fan Volland is one of the last two standing.

“They saw that I was wacky from my videos,” Volland says. “And this has just been fun! Nobody else from Clemson has ever done this before.”

Volland has been on the billboard since December 27th and will stay up there until January 7th, the day of the championship game against Alabama.

She’ll watch the game at the stadium with the Alabama superfan Llyas Ross Sr. and the winner will receive a prize, which has not yet been announced.
