News

SPARTANBURG CO., S.C. (WSPA) – Spartanburg County Councilman David Britt is looking to expand the workforce in Spartanburg, with international companies.

Three Japanese companies have announced ventures in Spartanburg County over the past few years, including Kobelco, AFL Fujikura, and Torray.

Recently Britt was able to travel to Japan with the company he works for, Tindall, to expand their business.

While there Britt visited those three companies, bringing them South Carolina flags, as customary gifts.

Britt states that Spartanburg county is home to more than 120 international businesses and adding Japan to that has been big business.

The new companies offer 65% white collar jobs and plan to invest in the community for a long time.

The Japanese leaders for these countries will also be visiting in the coming months.
