One person is dead after being involved in a single-car wreck in Cherokee County.
It happened on Highway 29 near Beaverdam Road around 2:45 Saturday morning.
According to Highway Patrol, the driver lost control, ran off the road and hit a tree.
The driver was wearing a seat belt but died on the scene.
Coroner Dennis Fowler identified the victim as Christopher McClenaghan of Cowpens.
The Coroner says speed was a factor in this crash.
No one else was in the car.
An autopsy is scheduled Sunday to assist with the coroner’s investigation.
