SPARTANBURG Co., SC (WSPA) – Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office officials identified the victim who was shot in the head and killed at a home on Seminole Drive in the county on Dec. 1.
According to Coroner Rusty Clevenger, the man was identified as Alberto Morales Flores, 23, of Una.
Clevenger said Flores was pronounced dead at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center on Dec. 1 around 11:40 p.m.
According Clevenger, Flores’ preliminary cause of death is listed as a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of his death has been ruled a homicide.
We reported earlier that Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office officials said that two Hispanic males flagged down a deputy at the sheriff’s office on Saturday night and told him someone had been hurt at a home on Seminole Drive.
Deputies followed the men back to the home where they found another man shot in the head. The victim was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Investigators determined the three victims had been robbed.
Deputies identified the suspects as Rico Nichols, 47, of Spartanburg and Jeffrey Adrian Simpson, 37, of Landrum.
Nichols and Simpson were arrested and charged with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, first-degree burglary and three counts of strong armed robbery.
Both were taken to the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
