News

BOILING SPRINGS, SC (WSPA) – Police and the coroner’s office responded to a scene on Valley Falls Road and Tool Road in Boiling Springs on Friday.

Our crews at the scene said that multiple police cruisers, an ambulance and Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office’s Hazardous Devices Unit responded to the area.

The sheriff’s office said a call came in around 3:30 p.m. Friday for a person with psychological issues.

One person was reportedly still inside the home in that area and deputies worked to get the subject in question outside. Tthe SWAT Team was also on-scene assisting with the situation.

Coroner Clevenger later confirmed that he responded to the scene and said the person died from a self-inflicted wound.

Investigators told us that there were other people inside the home, but crews believed they were all out of the home.

Valley Falls Road was temporarily blocked off to traffic, but has since reopened.
