SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – The Spartanburg Police Department is searching for a 17-year-old suspect after one man was killed and another injured in a shooting Thursday afternoon.

According to Spartanburg Police, officers were called to the area of James H. Young Street and Hudson Barksdale Boulevard at around 2:45 p.m.

When they arrived on-scene, officers were flagged down by a witness who told them that two men had been shot.

Officers said one man was found sitting in a white Chevrolet Impala in front of a James H. Young Street address.

The other man was lying in a driveway also located on James H. Young Street.

Police said the shooting incident happened between apartment units located on James H. Young Street.

The man who was found in the Impala was taken to Spartanburg Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

The man who was found in the driveway died at the scene.

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 40-year-old Terrell Antonio Cohen of Spartanburg.

Police identified the suspect as 17-year-old Jolyne Shamor Nijer Rector-Mills.

Rector-Mills is wanted on a charge of murder, according to Spartanburg Police.
