Crews respond to fire at apartment complex in Greenville Co.


GREENVILLE CO., S.C. (WSPA) – Several families are back in their homes after a fire Sunday night at Bent Oak Apartments on Old Boiling Springs Road.

Boiling Springs Fire Department responded to the call shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday.

Firefighters found one second-story apartment with heavy smoke and an fire in the kitchen. They were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

Along with the apartment where the fire started, six other apartments were also evacuated. People who live in those apartment were later allowed to return to their homes.

Firefighters say a woman in the apartment at the time of the kitchen fire was not hurt.

One firefighter was evaluated for a fall after slipping.

The blaze has been ruled accidental.
