UNION, SC (WSPA) - Two men attacked a man in his home with baseball bats, according to a report from Union Police Department.
Officers responded Sunday to an assault in the 200 block of S. Enterprise Street.
The victim said he and two friends were in his bedroom with the door closed when they heard a loud noise in the living room.
Moments later, two men with baseball bats entered the bedroom.
The victim said both intruders had on black masks, but the masks did not cover their whole faces - and he knew both of them.
The victim said the men kept beating on the door and eventually broke the door and knocked a hole in it.
He said he was hit in the shoulder by the first suspect who he identified as 57-year-old Rickey Brawley.
He said the second suspect, Gene Warren Moore, 49, was swinging the bat trying to hit him, but he missed.
The victim said he was able to grab the bat to keep Brawley from hitting him again.
He told the suspects he was calling the police and they ran out the front door.
A woman in the house said she was on the couch when the two men came running into the house.
She says they didn't see her because they were running toward the bedroom so fast.
The woman sad she knew both the suspects.
Both men were charged with assault, burglary and malicious damage to property, according to arrest warrants.
Moore remained in jail Wednesday under a $18,584 cash or surety bond.
Brawley was awaiting a bond hearing on Wednesday morning.
