18-year-old shot, killed in west Asheville, homicide investigation underway

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – Asheville Police have been investigating a homicide Monday morning in west Asheville.

According to police, officers responded at about 5:30 a.m. to Fayetteville Street for a reported shooting.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Antwan Terrell Eddings, 18, of Asheville, had been shot and killed.

Officers found a person of interest had barricaded themselves inside of a neighboring home, police said. After several hours of negotiation with the department’s Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) and Emergency Response Team (ERT), the person came out of the house and was taken into custody.
