Deputies identify suspect in cemetery vandalism in Graham Co.

GRAHAM CO., NC (WSPA) – Deputies say they have identified the woman they say is responsible for vandalizing a cemetery in Graham County Saturday morning.

According to the Graham County Sheriff’s Office, surveillance video from Lone Oak Baptist church showed the suspect responsible for knocking over around 60 headstones at the cemetery behind the church.

The suspect was spotted at a rest area in Andrews around noon Saturday and deputies say arrest warrants are in the process of being issued. They expect the suspect to be in custody soon.

The sheriff’s office has not yet released the name of that suspect but say she is from out of state.

The Graham County Sheriff’s Office says video showed the suspect overturning headstones.
