ANDERSON CO., SC (WSPA) – Two deputies were able to rescue a horse that was tangled in a fence in Anderson County, Tuesday.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Division was called to a report of a house that was apparently entangled in a fence.

When the two deputies arrived on scene, they found a mare that had just given birth trapped in a fence.

According to the Anderson County Emergency Management’s Facebook post, the two deputies were able to quickly free the horse.

Officials say the deputies had recently been trained on large animal emergency rescues.

The made was reunited with her foal and they were relocated to a larger pasture on the owner’s property, according to the post.

According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, it is believed that recent rains had loosened the fence posts in the ground, allowing the horse to get trapped.
