Deputies seize $55,000 worth of meth during bust in Union Co.

UNION CO., SC (WSPA) – Union County deputies have arrested a man they say had thousands of dollars worth of methamphetamine and marijuana.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Rodeway Inn on North Duncan Bypass for a man with a gun, Monday night.

When they arrived on scene, deputies say that 26-year-old Harold Dean Sinclair III told them he was there helping his friends whose car had broken down.

The person who called 911 spoke with deputies and told them that Sinclair had shown her two bags of what appeared to be drugs and then pulled out a gun and pointed it at her.

Deputies then searched Sinclair’s room and two vehicles.

Inside the room, investigators found 890 grams of methamphetamine worth $55,000, 80 grams of marijuana valued at $600, four sets of scales used to weigh drugs, a .380 caliber handgun, and $1,481 in cash.

Sinclair is charged with Public Intoxication, Pointing and Presenting a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Trafficking Methamphetamine within a 1/2 mile of a school or park, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana within 1/2 mile of a school or park.

According to the Union County Sheriff’s Office, Federal prosecutors are being asked to take the case into Federal court.
