Deputy in BBQ restaurant smells pot from vehicle in drive-thru, arrests man

DARLINGTON, S.C. (WBTW) – A Darlington man has been arrested after drugs were seized from a vehicle Friday. 

The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Jukelvin Laquan Rhahi Williams was arrested by deputies.

Investigators with the Drug Enforcement Unit are currently seeking formal charges. 

According to a news release, a deputy was eating lunch inside a BBQ restaurant in Darlington on Friday when “an odor consistent with marijuana could be smelled coming from a vehicle at the drive-thru window.”

During a search of the vehicle, deputies found about 28 grams of crack cocaine, four grams of methamphetamine, six Oxycodone pills, and 120 grams of marijuana. 

No other information about the suspect or the incident is available.
