“Did You Just Eat That?” Clemson scientist explores food myths

News

(WSPA) — Have you ever double-dipped at a party or shared a bag of popcorn at the movies? A Clemson University food scientist researched just how much bacteria you’re spreading.

Dr. Paul Dawson has released his findings in a new book titled “Did You Just Eat That?”

Dr. Dawson covers 10 common concerns and food myths, including how much bacteria is spread on a birthday cake when blowing out candles and whether the five-second rule is real.

His research shows bacteria spreads immediately in both cases and he says you are better off eating food that has dropped on carpet than wood floors.

“Did You Just Eat That?” is available on Amazon and in major bookstores.
