District 5 Superintendent Dr. Scott Turner to retire

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – Spartanburg’s District Five School System will soon be looking for a new leader.

After 15 years at the helm, Dr. Scott Turner has announced his intention to retire at the end of the school year.

District leaders said they’ll begin the search immediately for someone who can build on the foundation Dr. Turner has built.

In his letter to the district, Turner said there are no limits for this community as it continues to move forward.

“I will continue to be one of the district’s biggest allies and cheerleaders, if only as a spectator,” Turner said.
