Doctor accused of signing blank prescriptions in Spartanburg Co.


SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – An area doctor was arrested after she reportedly signed blank prescriptions, allowing for it to be filled out and used to get a controlled substance. 

According to an arrest warrent, Dr. Wanda Starling, of Landrum, was charged with unlawful prescription drugs, blank prescription.

Starling reportedly pre-signed blank prescriptions, which were later filled out and used to unlawfully obtain oxycodone in Spartanburg County.

The South Carolina DHEC Bureau of Drug Control investigated the case.

Starling later confessed to the crime in writing.
