GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – Lucky Pup Rescue SC spent days looking for one of their foster dogs, Zoro, who was taken from Aloft Hotel in Greenville.

The rescue group works with the hotel to foster pups until they are adopted.

We reported on Tuesday that two women were seen on surveillance footage taking the dog on Monday afternoon.

After a search, the dog was later given to the Greenville Police Department by an unidentified person.

Police said no formal charges have been filed.

Lucky Pup Rescue said they will press charges and said they are happy to have Zoro back safe and sound.

“He deserves a good life and we are so excited for him to be adopted,” Elizabeth Mashburn, director and founder of Lucky Pup Rescue, said. “He definitely deserves it. He’s a chill little guy.”

And here’s more good news: Zoro is being adopted by a family from Georgia, and should be with his new family by the end of the week.

Police told us an investigation into why Zoro was taken is still ongoing at this time.
