Due West Hwy. shooting victim dies, investigated as homicide

ANDERSON Co., S.C. (WSPA) – A man has died after a shooting in the 100 block of Due West Highway near Highway 28 South, according to the Anderson Co. Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened around 3:21 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7.

The victim had been shot at least once.

Michael T. McLarey, 27, of Anderson was taken to the hospital and died Friday.

No suspects or arrests have been announced at this time, but the death is now being investigated as a homicide, according to the sheriff’s office.

They said this is a very active and ongoing investigation.
