SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – Investigators say someone broke in to a church and electrical meters taken, according to a report from Spartanburg Police.

It happened at the Epiphany Church on Ernest L. Collins Ave. on August 15 around 8:30 p.m.

a man said he got to his church that morning and went to the rear of the building where the dining hall is located.

He said the alarm was going off. He saw the rear window was broken and pushed out,

He check the rear meter and saw an electrical meter was missing, but the alarm battery back up was still working.

The man said two electrical meters had been removed,

An officer searched the scene and found both of the electrical meters hidden in the garden bed,

The victim said he thought the suspects stole the meters but nothing else.

Police say the suspect(s) got into the church, but nothing else was stolen or destroyed.
