Empty Bowls Project helps fight hunger in Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG (WSPA) – Hunger is a growing problem in Spartanburg, and one Upstate group needs your help to help fight the hunger issue.

Hub City Empty Bowls is gearing up for their annual fundraiser, and the community gets to help create the items that will be going on display.

The fundraiser offers community members three different opportunities to make clay bowls, which will be sold at the annual Soup Day fundraiser.

Soup Day will be held on Saturday, October 15, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.at the Chapman Cultural Center.

The bowls will be sold for $15 which includes a meal of soup. The proceeds raised go towards TOTAL Ministries.

The next bowl-making sessions will be Thursday, July 21, 6-8:30 p.m. at West Main Artists Co-Op, and Saturday, August 27, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1- 3 p.m. at the Chapman Cultural Center.
