Facebook denies woman access to husband’s profile page

TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) – Facebook has turned down Rosemary Heath’s request to access her husband’s profile page.

Heath’s husband, George, died after being stabbed during a rampage at the Silver City Galleria in May.

Since his death, Rosemary would log into her husband’s Facebook page, until she was locked out earlier this month when the page became memorialized.

Heath has requested access to the page.

On Monday, a project manager for Facebook sent Heath a letter stating the site memorializes people’s pages once it has confirmed the person has passed away.

Facebook says once that happens, no one can log into the account anymore.

Rosemary Heath has started a petition to get Facebook to change that policy.
