1 dead, 3 hurt after crash on Chesnee Hwy. in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG Co., SC (WSPA) - One man is dead and three others are in the hospital after a crash along Chesnee Highway, Monday afternoon.

South Carolina Highway Patrol says a Chevrolet pickup truck and a Buick collided at the intersection of US-221 and Flatwood Industrial Drive shortly before 1:00pm.

One of the passengers in the Buick was thrown from the vehicle and died at Spartanburg Medical Center a short time later, according to troopers.

The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 75-year-old Douglas Bryant of Lake Lure, NC.

The driver and another passenger in the Buick and the driver of the pickup truck were also injured in the crash.

Highway Patrol says their multi-disciplinary accident investigation team continues to investigate the wreck. No charges have been filed at this time.
