Felon breaks into vehicles, steals gun, falls asleep, says McDowell Co. report

McDOWELL Co., NC (WSPA) – A felon broke into two vehicles and stole a gun, but fell asleep before he could make his getaway, according McDowell Co. Sheriff’s Office.

Timothy Matthew Howell, 29, Patton Ave. in Asheville, is charged with two counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and one count each of larceny of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon.

A couple found a man asleep in their SUV at their home on Lytle Mountain Rd., according to the report.

Deputies say the man rummaged through the vehicle and stole a gun from a truck on the property.

Howell fell asleep before before he could make his getaway, according to the report.
